CastAngel ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy describes what information the CastAngel software collects and how the CastAngel website handles visitor data.
1. The Software Collects No Personal Data
The CastAngel desktop application does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. Specifically:
- It does not send your screen contents, files, or file names to us or any third party. All screen and file traffic stays on your local network.
- It does not phone home. There is no telemetry, usage reporting, or crash reporting built into the application.
- Activation is verified locally. Your machine identifier (derived from SMBIOS and CPU information) is shown only to you on your own screen and is never transmitted to us during normal operation.
- The optional online activation endpoint receives only your machine identifier and returns only a license key. It is not stored unless required to fulfill your order.
2. What We Receive When You Buy
When you purchase CastAngel, our payment processor collects the information necessary to complete the transaction (such as your email address and payment details). We receive your email address and order reference so we can deliver your license key and provide support. We do not see or store your full payment card number.
3. How We Use Your Email
We use your email address to: (a) deliver your license key and receipt; (b) respond to support requests; (c) send critical product notices such as security updates. We do not sell or rent your email address to third parties. You may request deletion of your contact record at any time.
4. Website Visitors
The CastAngel website may use privacy-respecting analytics to count anonymous page views and understand aggregate traffic. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies for advertising.
5. Cookies
The website uses only essential cookies required to function. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are set.
6. Data Retention
We retain order records (email, order reference, issued license key) for as long as needed to provide support and honor refunds, and thereafter for the period required by applicable tax law. Machine identifiers received by the activation endpoint are retained only if needed to re-issue keys on hardware changes.
7. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing [email protected]. If you are a resident of California or the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under applicable law, which we will honor.
8. Children
CastAngel is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
